Over the last 15 years, Avenir has developed and refined its proprietary Application
Framework (AFW) for the building of its Windows*-based programs. This highly engineered
set of software components provides the core architecture for our applications,
and using it allows us to focus our development efforts on our clients' product-specific
needs. Essentially, we don't need to "reinvent the wheel" for each new program.
The AFW architecture deals with tasks like project handling, quotations, menus,
etc., and is pre-engineered to be powerful, flexible and very stable. And because
we specialize in developing software for technical and engineered products, many
of our product evaluation tools are built right into the AFW. For example, the core
functionality in the graphing tools, specification wizards, AutoCAD**-compatible
drawing tools and the submittal wizard are built right into our AFW. The final functionality
and appearance of these tools is customized to meet each client's needs.
