A major new update for LoopCAD 2010 has been released, adding the much anticipated Import of PDF* and Scanned Drawings! Other new features include a Curve Wall tool and a Wall Bump Out tool, and several reported issues have also been resolved.

New Features
  • Support for importing of PDF and image files for use as background drawings.
  • New Curve Wall tool to simplify process of creating curved wall sections.
  • New Wall Bump Out tool to simplify adding bump outs to walls.
  • Added the new Drawing Only mode to allow circuit layout designs without heat loss or hydronic calculation data displaying.
  • Addition of ASHRAE's data for International Climate locations.
  • Addition of SI/Metric tubing sizes.
  • Addition of 5/8" and 5/16" tubing to Prefab panels, and 3/8" tubing to Heat Transfer Plates panels.

  • Fixed issue where drawing extents would not be calculated correctly and could causing printing problem with some projects.
  • Fixed default printer error for drawing report.
  • Fixed problem when selecting paper size for large format printers.
  • Fixed problems caused by orphaned doors and windows.
  • Fixed error when selecting "Not Specified" for manifold type.
  • Fixed error when viewing drawing report when no printers are installed.
  • Added version number to footer of drawing report.
  • Fixed issue where supplemental heat could become negative.
  • Fixed Snap to Imported CAD file problem.
  • Improved automated circuit generation for between joists patterns.
  • Resolved issue so that selected circuit segments now stay selected after a drag operation.
  • Fixed issue where building data step would not display.
  • Fixed issue where floorplan reference to imported CAD file would be lost when deleting a floorplan that also used the same file.
  • Corrected display of help topic on some of the drawing steps.
  • Fixed issue where drawing report would not print correctly for some projects with multiple floorplans.
  • Updated Insert Gap operation to change size when draw spacing is changed.
  • Updated error handling in project save to handle errors when imported CAD files cannot be found.
  • Fixed issue where adding a circuit entry could delete circuits in a different room.
  • Fixed issue where default path for file saving would not show correctly.
  • Fixed calculation of back loss when room has a mixture of interior and exterior exposed areas.
  • Added location field to the project settings step.
  • The imported DWG background is now included when the project is exported to a CAD file.
  • Fixed problem where custom logo setting could be lost.
  • Fixed issue where display of wall thickness would not be updated when changed on floorplan settings dialog.
  • Updated the circuit colors pop-up to include the standard circuit colors (red, green, blue).
