AutoCAD is not required to run LoopCAD. However, LoopCAD is able to import AutoCAD
2010 (and earlier) drawing files for use as a template for your plumbing system
design, and it can also export to the DWG and DXF file formats.
Yes you can import PDF drawings or scanned drawings in JPG, PNG, or BMP formats
as well as AutoCAD DWG and DXF files.

Yes, with the Professional Edition you can calculate residential heat losses using
either ASHRAE or CSA-F280. The Standard Edition does not calculate the heat losses
but you can input unit loads manually, and have the hydronic calculations performed
